Zhang Yang let out a dry laugh, deeply struck by the fact that there really were no secrets in the company.
Just because he had parked his Porsche downstairs for a little while that one time, the matter had somehow spiraled into this.
"I'm not afraid. It's just fair competition," Zhang Yang said, keeping his composure.
"Are you insane? You actually want to go head-to-head with them?" Xiang Youde shook his head helplessly, wondering if Zhang Yang had lost his mind lately or was just being overly confident.
"You're an outsider. For all you know, your competitor is a local from Magic City. What do you have, and what do they have? Tell me, what are you going to use to compete?"
"I see Bei Wei isn't at work today, so I'll send her a message to check in later," Zhang Yang muttered to himself.
"You are the number one simp in the world," Xiang Youde said, frustrated by his lack of ambition.
"What if she was out late with her boyfriend last night and is still in his arms right now? You're sending a message now? Do you want to give her boyfriend a reason to laugh at you?"
Xiang Youde asked with a pained expression, trying to hammer some sense into Zhang Yang.
He even painstakingly pulled up screenshots of various clowns to try and wake Zhang Yang up.
As follows:

"Look, look, aren't these clowns hilarious and pathetic? You don't want to end up like them, do you?" Xiang Youde sighed.
Zhang Yang looked up. "Message sent."
"You, you just won't listen," Xiang Youde said, completely disappointed.
Zhang Yang checked his phone; Bei Wei still hadn't checked out of the hotel.
Taking advantage of the bright morning, she had taken many photos and sent him a selfie.
In the selfie, Bei Wei looked fresh and sweet, with the Magic City skyline stretching to the horizon outside the floor-to-ceiling window behind her.
Zhang Yang looked at one of the photos where she wore a thin dress, revealing her fair, tender legs, and his mind couldn't help but drift away.
Could it be said that Zhang Yang had unlocked Bei Wei's seal?
"Brother Zhang, do I look good?" Bei Wei asked him.
"You look great. By the way, are you still in pain?" Zhang Yang replied.
"A little, but it doesn't affect anything," Bei Wei said.
"Doesn't affect what?" Zhang Yang followed up.
In the afternoon, Zhang Yang felt that Xiang Youde kept rolling his eyes at him for no reason.
"Wait, Xiang Youde, do you have a problem with me?" Zhang Yang couldn't help but ask.
"I really misjudged you, Zhang Yang. I thought you were the kind of person with perseverance who could achieve great things. I didn't expect you to be no different from those simps," Xiang Youde said indignantly.
"Don't focus on the process, look at the results, okay?" Zhang Yang was speechless. He wanted to retort, but thinking that Old Xiang might have experienced this himself, he immediately let it go.
"Look at the results? If you can actually achieve your so-called results, I'll write my name, Xiang Youde, backward," Xiang Youde said angrily.
"Write it backward? Fine by me." Zhang Yang couldn't be bothered to argue with Old Xiang anymore.
Facts speak louder than words, but he didn't want to reveal the truth to provoke Old Xiang right now, so he would just leave it at that.
In the evening, the not-so-busy workday finally drew to a close.
It was almost time to clock out.
Zhang Yang checked the time and, seeing that no one else was moving, he clocked out right on the dot.
As it happened, just as he was leaving on time, his boss, Song Mingyang, also walked out of his office.
Under normal circumstances, no employee would choose to leave at this exact moment.
Clocking out on time and bumping into the boss—isn't that awkward?
A few minutes later would have been better!
But Zhang Yang felt quite relaxed; he even nodded at Song Mingyang with a lighthearted expression.
Inside the elevator, although Song Mingyang kept his smile, he was muttering to himself.
"Zhang Yang, leaving... quite early today, huh?"
"Not early," Zhang Yang blinked. "Don't worry, Boss Song, I didn't leave early."
"No, no, I didn't mean you left early. I was just showing concern. By the way, it's still early, do you have a date tonight?" Song Mingyang asked with a persistent smile.
"Not for now," Zhang Yang said.
"Then you need to hurry up. Look at all the single young ladies in our company—the early bird gets the worm," Song Mingyang said, sounding like a concerned boss, until the elevator doors opened.
"I'm off. Don't waste your youth," Song Mingyang said, flashing a smile that seemed to encourage his employee before leaving with high expectations.
Zhang Yang watched Song Mingyang's departing figure and muttered to himself.
"Don't waste my youth? I haven't been wasting it, have I?"
In the distance, Song Mingyang started his wine-red Panamera. As he drove past Zhang Yang, he rolled down the window and waved, looking quite dashing.
Zhang Yang watched the Panamera drive away with a strange look on his face before heading straight for his Bentley Continental GT.
With a roar, the Bentley Continental GT sped off, leaving Song Mingyang trailing streets behind in terms of sheer style.
In the evening, Zhang Yang stood in the kitchen, slowly pan-searing cod as he prepared dinner.
While waiting, he took the opportunity to check for part-time job listings on his phone.
In the vast Magic City, there were countless job seekers and just as many employment platforms; without any real effort, a massive sea of quick and easy part-time opportunities was laid out before him.
"Business male model, monthly salary of fifty to eighty thousand? Not bad! Wait, no, no, next one." Zhang Yang passed on that one immediately.
"Seeking male part-time print models, height requirement 1.8 to 1.85 meters, good physique, excellent temperament, daily settlement, daily pay of five hundred to eight hundred?" Zhang Yang felt a slight stir in his heart as he looked at the casting call from a certain fashion magazine.
This one actually seemed doable!
He certainly didn't have any professional experience as a print model.
But... he could absolutely give it a try. His current physique was purely that of a top-tier clothes hanger; from the neck down, he was flawless, and from the neck up... he was good enough.
It was truly a fickle world. If someone had told him, Zhang Yang, a month or two ago that he would one day consider becoming a print model, he wouldn't have believed it even if he were beaten to death.
Yet today, he actually dared to send an email and wait for their reply.
Making money? There was nothing shameful about that!
After sending the email, Zhang Yang calculated everything carefully. Based on the pay for print models, if he could successfully land the gig and do it steadily for a while, completing this part-time task would be a total breeze!
Twenty experience points were practically already in his pocket!
That evening, while eating, Zhang Yang actually received a reply in his inbox.
The content of the email looked like a generic template, mostly notifying him of when and where to go for a group interview, along with some specific instructions, preparations, and so on.
The timing was also a coincidence; it was this coming weekend.
Should he go or not?
Of course he had to go!
