In the southern part of Green Mountain Town, Mu She was discussing matters in the main hall with the second commander, Gan Mu, and the third commander, He Meng.
Bang!
"Ah! Who are you?!"
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"
Hearing the commotion outside, the three men exchanged glances, drew their weapons, and rushed out!
When they arrived outside, they saw their brothers sprawled all over the ground, along with a figure in white whose clothes were utterly spotless.
Mu She stepped forward. Rather than getting angry, he asked in a deep voice, "May I ask why you have forced your way into Wolf Head? There seems to be no grudge between us, does there?"
Xiao Wujiu glanced at Mu She. He had no interest in this two-star Dou Master newbie boss and said bluntly, "I need a detailed map of the area around Green Mountain Town, including the terrain, as well as a route map for Myriad Herb Pavilion's herb-gathering teams."
"My patience is limited. I will only say it once."
Mu She looked at Xiao Wujiu warily. The people in the stronghold were all core members of Wolf Head, and none of them were weak, yet this man had dealt with them so easily. He could not be fought head-on!
"Please wait a moment. I'll have someone fetch it right away." As he spoke, he gave He Meng a meaningful look, telling him to get the map.
Seeing that look, He Meng nodded in sudden realization, understanding his commander's meaning.
But did he really understand?
A moment later, He Meng came over with a map and walked up to Mu She, giving him a look that said everything was ready.
"Deliver it to this young master."
Mu She did not look at He Meng. He only wanted to send this plague god away as quickly as possible and avoid further trouble.
If some brothers died, then so be it. But if he died, Wolf Head would truly cease to exist!
However, Mu She had no idea that sending He Meng to deliver the map would become the greatest regret of his life!
He Meng walked up to Xiao Wujiu with the map in hand.
Then, just as Xiao Wujiu reached out to take it, a sight that made Mu She's heart and guts split apart unfolded.
With a ferocious grin, He Meng suddenly sprang into action. A fist wrapped in earth-attributed Battle Qi shot straight toward Xiao Wujiu's chest!
"Kid, die!"
Mu She watched in fury, inwardly cursing He Meng for being unable to hold himself back.
Useless fool, incapable of success and only capable of ruining things!
But when he saw Xiao Wujiu standing motionless, as if he had failed to react, a sliver of hope rose in his heart.
Could this kid be an inexperienced rookie? If He Meng succeeded, this mysterious kid must have a fortune on him!
Yet as Mu She watched hopefully, what happened next completely crushed the heart he had kept hanging in suspense.
He Meng had indeed struck Xiao Wujiu, but his punch was firmly blocked by a solid layer of crimson armor!
Xiao Wujiu's smile vanished. He lowered his head to look at the fist pressed against his chest, his gaze as still as an ancient well and so deep it seemed capable of swallowing a person whole. The way he looked at He Meng was as if he were looking at a dead man.
He turned his head, looked past He Meng at Mu She, and said, "It seems I gave you too many smiles. How do you think those mercenaries outside ended up lying on the ground?"
Finally, seeing the fearful yet pleading looks in the eyes of Mu She and the other two, he understood, then gave a scornful smile.
"I hadn't wanted to kill anyone..."
Magical Beast Mountain Range, outer region.
First-rank magical beasts were common here, with the occasional second-rank magical beast appearing.
Following the map seized from the Wolf Head Mercenary Group, he easily narrowed down the location from the original story.
It was Myriad Herb Pavilion's herb-gathering area, surrounded by cliffs and located in the outer region. Taken together, there was only one place it could be.
Xiao Wujiu arrived without obstruction. There were indeed quite a few medicinal herbs around, so this truly was Myriad Herb Pavilion's herb-gathering ground.
He continued deeper into the small forest, and gradually, a cliff appeared before him.
Walking to its edge and looking down, he found a large tree growing from the cliffside. Hidden beneath its cover was a faintly visible platform.
He immediately mobilized the Battle Qi within his body and fully activated the strongest movement-type Battle Qi technique he had mastered.
"Profound Tier High-Grade Dou Technique, Cloud Crane Nine Turns!"
His body became incomparably light, as though he had transformed into a cloud crane. He maneuvered through the air, and with a Nine-Star Dou Ling's barely sufficient ability to move in midair, he smoothly reached the entrance of the cave.
A sweep of Soul Power revealed the location of the mechanism.
Pressing it, he heard the stone door creak as it slowly opened, revealing a dark cave entrance.
Flames rose in his hand, illuminating the surroundings as he stepped directly inside.
Beyond the stone door was a huge stone chamber. It looked somewhat plain and empty, though Moonlight Stones embedded in the walls provided illumination.
At the center of the chamber stood a seat with a skeleton atop it, adding a hint of eerie gloom to the place. Before the skeleton was a square bluestone table, upon which sat three locked stone boxes.
Xiao Wujiu paid them no mind at first. Instead, he surveyed the rest of the chamber. Three corners contained sizable piles of gold coins, while the final corner held some medicinal herbs.
Only after confirming that this was the right place did he begin to act. He first walked over to the skeleton and, after saying, "My apologies for the offense," removed the key and the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame Remnant Map from a crack in its arm bone.
"The important thing is getting it into my pocket."
With a satisfied smile, he began collecting the gold and silver around him, then carefully stored away the medicinal herbs one by one. They would be useful for refining pills later.
Finally, he opened the three stone boxes one after another. Inside were a copy of the Seven-Colored Poison Scripture recording the Woe Poison Body, a Profound Tier High-Grade flying Dou Technique called Eagle Wings, and a Profound Tier High-Grade Dou Technique called Mad Lion Roar.
"What? It's called Mad Lion Roar? I thought it was a sound-wave Dou Technique."
Seeing the last Dou Technique, Xiao Wujiu curled his lip, though he also felt that he had been overthinking it. After all, Mu She's Profound Tier High-Grade Dou Technique, Mad Lion Roar, had not been portrayed as a sound-wave Dou Technique in the original story either.
"Forget it. Better than nothing."
After storing all three scrolls in his Storage Ring, he did not leave immediately. Instead, he began examining the surrounding furnishings and even probed with Soul Power, yet found nothing at all.
"Strange. That shouldn't be right."
Xiao Wujiu had a suspicion. After thinking it over, anyone capable of hiding a Tattered Map of the Purifying Demonic Lotus Flame inside a body, leaving only a tiny crack in the bone even after death and weathering, must either have mastered spatial techniques while alive or had it placed there after death.
Judging by the age of the medicinal herbs in the corner, that skeleton had weathered into its current state for only a few decades. Its strength had likely been around that of a Dou Wang, perhaps a Dou Emperor.
Now that was interesting. Was this skeleton truly the master of this stone chamber?
Xiao Wujiu's gaze shifted to the floor beneath the chamber, and a bold idea surfaced in his mind...
