Background / History

Hu Feibai rose from impoverished beginnings through a life of killing and bloodshed, eventually founding the Blood Blade Sect and cultivating the Blood Blade Scripture. In his Dan-Forming years, he tempered his meridians beyond ordinary standards, wrapped his Internal Force in blood-evil aura, and claimed the ability to fight several peers at once. 101

He became a longstanding enemy of the Clear Wood Sect and its leader, Mu Nian. Hu Feibai attacked the weakened Mu Nian during the Clear Wood Sect's attempt to elevate Song Shan, but Mu Nian temporarily erupted with power and wounded him with Clear Wood Sword Intent. Hu Feibai withdrew rather than risk a direct confrontation. 90 91

While fleeing the pursuing Clear Wood Sect martial artists, Hu Feibai captured Li Yun, who was disguised as Blood Blade Sect disciple Leng Yifeng, and forced him to drive the Ghost Fire Demon Horse south. Impressed by Li Yun's Blood Blade Technique and talent, he provided the Dan-Forming portion of the Blood Blade Scripture and personally explained the path beyond Core-Forming. 99 100 101

At Mist Valley, Hu Feibai healed his injuries and perfected his Blade Intent. He then used his familiarity with the terrain, ambushes, and manipulation to dismantle the Clear Wood Sect pursuers one by one, killing Zhao Meng and Shi Poshan and scattering the rest. 114 121 123

His confidence led him to underestimate Li Yun and Mu Fuwan. Li Yun ambushed and severely wounded him, then destroyed his dantian and severed his limbs after Hu Feibai attempted to use a Blood Path Secret Technique.
