Some high-level Soul Beasts seek human forms because humans are described as better vessels for cultivation and more attuned to heaven and earth. This grants them human cultivation speed while retaining their long-lived Soul Beast essence. 126

Soul Spirits

Soul Spirits were developed as an alternative to killing Soul Beasts for rings. They are cultivated from Soul Beast blood or tissue through the Soul Spirit Genesis formation, Life Force, and Growth Force. 159 160

• Soul Spirits have no physical body and must attach to a human host to survive once activated. 160

Soul Beasts serve as the primary source of Soul Rings and Soul Bones throughout Li Fei's early cultivation. Li Fei repeatedly targets dragon-blooded species because of their compatibility with the Azure Dragon Staff and his ability to locate and suppress them. 4 15 41 65

His confrontations with the Sky Azure Bull Python, Titan Giant Ape, and Deep Sea Demonic Whale King demonstrate the widening power gap between high-level Soul Beasts and his rapidly advancing cultivation. 120 121 145 147

Soul Spirit Reform

Recognizing that the number of powerful Soul Beasts was declining, Li Fei began developing the Soul Spirit system as a replacement for conventional Soul Beast hunting. Gu Yue supported the project because it offered her race a path away from being slaughtered for rings. 154 159 160

Soul Beast Continent

After attaining god-level power, Li Fei severed the Star Dou Forest from the main continent and placed it upon a raised ancient landmass, creating the Soul Beast Continent. He directed its inhabitants to reproduce, build an organized civilization, and worship the Eastern Azure Dragon. 233
