Background / History
Qin Wan was raised by the Qin Family as Master Qin’s only daughter. Her engagement to Xia Dong was ended after he was found to lack a Spirit Root and she entered the Qixia Immortal Sect. Despite the broken engagement, she sent Xia Dong a spirit stone, old ginseng, and an apologetic letter 1 2.
After learning that Xia Dong possessed a Dao Registry, Qin Wan regretted failing to support him sooner. Viewing their connection as a long-term investment, she began sending him spirit stones and maintaining contact despite the risks of doing so from within the sect 8 9. When Xia Dong requested a martial technique, she retrieved the Dragon-Capturing Technique from the Qixia Immortal Sect’s Scripture Depository and secured her master’s permission to provide it 12.
Before True Person Lone Moon entered seclusion, Qin Wan was entrusted with Lone Moon Peak’s daily resource allocation and secret-vault authority despite being its youngest and least advanced disciple. The responsibility made her a target for her senior disciples, particularly Pei Hongling, while the Unborn Cult also pressured the Qin Family in the mortal world 32 33.
Qin Wan secretly sold Xia Dong’s Wind-Riding Talismans through the marketplace, using her status and merchant upbringing to negotiate a favorable price. Xia Dong rewarded her with Qi-Gathering Pills and spirit stones, and the two formally became sworn siblings 34. When Pei Hongling accused her of embezzling secret-vault supplies, Qin Wan resisted the intimidation with a calculated threat involving the Eagle-Wolf Guard and destroyed the vault key rather than allow it to be seized 38.
True Person Lone Moon removed Qin Wan’s authority over the vault and assigned her to serve as steward of the Yin Spirit Mine for three years. Qin Wan accepted the punishment without complaint. Though the mine’s dense yin energy initially clashed painfully with her thunder-attribute cultivation, she gradually used the hostile environment to refine her mana and strengthen her foundation 47 62.
At the mine, Qin Wan guarded Xia Dong during his secluded cultivation in an abandoned shaft. She held off two assassins with lightning arts and sword techniques, but was bound and poisoned by a third attacker wielding a Shadow Demon Binding Rope. Xia Dong saved her during the attack and later purged the poison with his medical skills and blood energy 63 64 66. Afterward, she helped fabricate a joint battle report with Xia Dong and Zhao Ting, then asked True Person Lone Moon to reward Xia Dong for his role in saving her 69.
Master Qin’s suicide later revealed that Qin Wan had been adopted into the Qin Family, leaving her estranged from her former worldly relatives. She brought the relic he left behind to Lone Moon Peak and requested that True Person Lone Moon owe Xia Dong three favors in accordance with her father’s final arrangements 84 85. By the time True Person Lone Moon entered Purple Mansion seclusion, Qin Wan had become Lone Moon Peak’s chief steward and handled important sect visitors and gifts on her master’s behalf 124 125.
Appearance
Qin Wan is described as a beautiful young cultivator with clear eyes and a composed bearing. She is later seen wearing a plain, immaculate Daoist robe while guarding Lone Moon Peak’s forbidden cultivation grounds 33 127.
- Beautiful face and clear eyes 33 51
- Usually wears Qixia Immortal Sect attire and artifacts associated with Lone Moon’s lineage 14
- Carries herself with calm dignity even under pressure 47 127
Personality
Qin Wan is practical, observant, and shaped by her upbringing in a merchant family. She recognizes the value of long-term alliances, which motivates her continued support of Xia Dong after their engagement ends and helps her negotiate effectively in the cultivation marketplace 8 34.
She is also loyal and emotionally attached to those she considers family or allies. She cannot bring herself to abandon the Qin Family when the Unborn Cult threatens them, protects Xia Dong’s seclusion despite being outnumbered, and asks her master to reward him rather than seeking a reward for herself 33 63 69.
Although initially inexperienced in sect intrigue, Qin Wan grows more resolute through repeated hardship. She withstands Pei Hongling’s pressure, accepts punishment calmly, and later refuses to yield when guarding her master’s secluded cultivation site 38 47 127.
