A great many things happened during the long month of June.
On June 23, the US Government issued an announcement to Latveria, demanding that it open diplomatic channels with the United States. It also urged Latveria to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, accept inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency, and disclose its number of nuclear weapons to prevent the spread of atomic energy risks. A White House spokesperson called on Latveria to shoulder its responsibility toward humanity and the world, prevent the world from heading toward nuclear war, and allow the Balkan Peninsula to embrace freedom and peace once more.
Latveria's press office gave no response.
On June 24, Latverian Regent Victor von Doom traveled to Moscow on behalf of the Emperor of Latveria and signed an "Orbital Satellite Missile Interception System Cooperation Treaty," promising to share Latveria's Low-Orbit Laser Interception System. This system could use Space-Based Directed Energy Weapons to destroy strategic missiles during launch and atmospheric transit. The space-based aerial surveillance network built around it could accurately intercept separated warheads leaving the atmosphere, while anti-satellite weapons such as Void Fighters could destroy enemy military satellites, striking at and weakening the enemy's surveillance, early warning, communications, and navigation capabilities. In addition, Latveria would share the U.S. military's Ballistic Missile Defense System captured from Romania with countries around the world. Any country that signed the agreement could dispatch military-industrial research teams to study and crack it.
At this meeting, Latverian Regent Victor von Doom removed his mask and Power Armor for the first time, revealing his true face.
