"Captain, someone is trying to breach Stark Industries' flight systems."
"Can you keep them out?" Captain Rogers asked worriedly. Ever since The Punisher Helicarrier had sent landing instructions a few minutes ago, an ominous feeling had filled his heart. The impatience of the flight tower controller and the rapid-fire cannons that had kept tracking the Quinjet both showed that they were far from friendly. He was certain the intrusion into the flight systems had been carried out by the City of Immortals. Had Vision not discovered it in time, they might have stolen some of the information.
"I can. Should I take countermeasures?"
"No, absolutely not." The captain shook his head. "The strike team will not carry weapons. We absolutely cannot show any hostility."
"But I don't think they'll be polite to us, Captain," Falcon said. "They might even lock us up."
"They have no need to do that. If they wanted our lives, any mage could do it without a sound. I've seen magical curses. Ordinary people have absolutely no way to fight mages." Captain Rogers watched as the pilot hovered the Quinjet before the Helicarrier's deck launch passage, then slowly guided it inside. He could vaguely make out the Helicarrier's original form, but after the City of Immortals' extensive modifications, its aircraft capacity had dropped to the point where it could barely be called a carrier. He had never seen a Helicarrier with its flight deck sealed beneath armor and rapid-fire cannons mounted atop the armor plating. It was practically a Sky Battleship.
"Sounds like there's a story there," Falcon said.
"Another time." As the aircraft docked, the rear hatch slowly opened. Captain Rogers picked up his shield and walked at the front of the group. Not showing hostility did not mean he would fail to take precautions.
