Stephanie had told Salomon more than once just how much Gideon Malick had doted on her after her mother died of illness. In Stephanie's eyes, Gideon Malick cared greatly about family. Though he did not always have time to spend with his daughter, he had fulfilled every need Stephanie had throughout her childhood and adolescence. Salomon, however, believed that kind of upbringing could only raise a foolish girl—before he subdued the Malik family, Stephanie's devotion to the Many-tentacled creature worshipped by the Malik family for centuries had been downright outrageous, and Salomon never failed to tease her about it.
He gave Stephanie a questioning look, and Hydra's daughter immediately handed him a tablet.
While they had been talking, City of Immortals agents stationed at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base were gradually withdrawing, boarding Assault Transports back to the City of Immortals base. They placed NASA astronaut Will into an isolation chamber, then used engineering equipment to move it aboard the transport. Though Agent Coulson wanted to stop them, the murderous expressions on the Sisterhood's faces caused his final attempt to keep Will behind to fail.
"I hope you can urge them to produce the test results," Agent Coulson told Barbara Morse. "Sorry, Barbara, but we need people right now. We need Fitz and Simmons. Also, May and Daisy are still drifting at sea, and you're the only pilot left at the base. I need you to take the maintenance crew and bring May and Daisy back, then make a detour to speak with Dr. Garner. We have to be frugal, because S.H.I.E.L.D. can no longer produce Quinjets. Stark Industries can't get around Congress and the Ministry of Defence to manufacture them either. Every Quinjet we lose is one less we have."
