Waterfall Church was a magnificent structure that had been abandoned for a very long time. Even after years of neglect, the exquisite reliefs on its stone walls and archways remained lifelike, and more than half of its intricate gilded runes had withstood the test of time. Its once-glorious entrance was now submerged beneath murky lakewater. Deep green moss and all kinds of creeping vines covered the collapsed, heavy gray stone walls, while the roots of giant trees slowly yet relentlessly split apart the stones along their cracks, breaking down the collapsed walls at the church's base. Perhaps in another century, the submerged portion of Waterfall Church would be reduced entirely to rubble and silt.
The dense canopy blocked Salomon and the Witch's view of the church spire, but they had already seen it on their way here. Building such an exquisite spire would have required mathematical and architectural knowledge far beyond its era. Any scholar familiar with history would realize that this structure could not possibly have been built by human hands centuries ago, for this region had never possessed the productivity or population needed to construct such a large building in any period.
Only magic, a power beyond common sense, could explain it.
Salomon felt that Laura Croft would definitely like the ruins of Waterfall Church, but unfortunately, she still had to conduct investigations in the Middle East and South America. The Arcanist thought he could tell her about this place after the mission was over. After all, Richard Croft had devoted his life to uncovering the secret of immortality, and Laura Croft had continued down that same path. If she learned of this place, she would surely jump for joy.
He placed great importance on Laura's work, so much so that he was willing to direct the resources
