Salomon strolled out onto the street and hailed a taxi.
"Mycroft Holmes has yielded," he said the moment he settled into the back seat. The Intelligence Department agents did not know his identity, but they would still relay the news to Victoria Hand through an encrypted channel. Even before the gunship had taken off, Victoria Hand's agents had already gone into action, scouting out the defenses of that island prison for Salomon. Only such close coordination had given Salomon enough cards in hand to overcome Mycroft Holmes. Once the message had been sent, Salomon closed his eyes to rest. The taxi passed Westminster Abbey and the Methodist Central Hall, drove straight from Westminster Bridge toward the London Eye, and finally stopped in front of the famous graffiti-covered Leake Street Tunnel.
After paying the fare, the Arcanist got out and slowly walked into the road tunnel.
Constantine had been waiting there for some time. Several hours of slaughter had not left him looking tired. Full of vigor, he stood in the dimly lit center of the tunnel with a halberd in hand, a black carbon-fiber combination case at his feet. When Salomon approached, he opened the case and revealed what lay inside—a black portable force-feedback Power Armor set with gorgeous Baroque-style golden ornamentation. It was thinner than the one Salomon had worn before, and its life-support systems were less comprehensive. This Power Armor had been produced by Malphas based on Tony Stark's MK5 portable Power Armor concept, intended to provide Salomon with sufficient protection in an emergency. As a result, the extensive structural requirements for transformation had limited the thickness of this force-feedback Power Armor. However, to compensate, its modular design allowed it to connect with numerous external attachments.
