The financial plutocrats formed alliances through cross-shareholding. They provoked the Donkey Party and Elephant Party into slaughtering each other, dividing society so it could never unite. They used monopolies on knowledge and religion to fool the lower classes so they could never find the truth. They exaggerated conspiracy theories until their existence was drowned amid nonsensical urban legends. They funded Internet media to manipulate public opinion, financed assassinations of their opponents, such as the Black Panther Party, launched foreign wars and genocides to plunder resources, then used the media to whitewash their actions. They incited populism, human rights, animal protection, women's rights, and racial discrimination to overthrow regimes opposed to them.
If they had not done so, those people who had absorbed such vast amounts of society's wealth would have been hanging from streetlights long ago.
