Background / History

Madara was a leader of the Uchiha Clan during the Warring States era and stood alongside Hashirama Senju as one of that era's defining shinobi. His younger brother, Uchiha Izuna, died after being wounded by Tobirama Senju; Izuna's death became one of the central losses shaping Madara's worldview. 345 340

After being alienated from Hashirama and Konoha, Madara discovered the Uchiha stone tablet at Naka Shrine. Black Zetsu approached him, claimed to be an embodiment of Madara's will, and explained the Eye of the Moon Plan and Infinite Tsukuyomi. 343

Black Zetsu later revived Madara through the Impure World Reincarnation Jutsu using White Zetsu sacrifices and Madara's prepared remains.
