Background

Ritsuka was an ordinary teenager before becoming caught up in Chaldea's crisis. During the emergency Spiritron Transfer to the burning Fuyuki Singularity, he traveled with Mash Kyrielight and Fou despite having little understanding of Singularities, magecraft, or Servants. He soon summoned Anno without intending to do so. 115 116 117

After Fuyuki, Dr. Roman entrusted Ritsuka—Master Candidate No. 48 and Chaldea's only available Master candidate—with the task of restoring seven Singularities. Although he initially doubted whether he was fit to command Mash and Anno, Anno's reassurance helped him accept the responsibility. 129 154

Ritsuka trained continuously between missions, studying historical figures and magecraft while improving his physical condition and ability to support Servants. His role grew from a hesitant survivor into a field commander able to organize Servant deployments, assess enemy weaknesses, and make decisions under pressure. 746 1036 1060

He completed the Grand Order and helped save humanity and the Earth. Because the scale of his achievement could draw the Mage's Association's scrutiny, Chaldea chose to conceal him and Mash; Ritsuka accepted the decision, insisting that he had never saved the world alone. 1677 1685

Personality

Ritsuka is brave without being fearless. He is visibly frightened by the horrors surrounding him and has admitted that he is not naturally composed under pressure, yet he repeatedly chooses to act anyway. 115 262 1596

His confidence developed gradually. Early on, he questioned whether he deserved to be Mash and Anno's Master; soon afterward, he was issuing clear battlefield orders and entrusting Anno with decisive objectives. 129 130

He is compassionate toward both allies and enemies. Ritsuka rescued Hassan of Serenity despite the danger posed by her poison, spoke calmly with Shuten Douji despite her nature, and refuses to reduce his Servants to tools or legends alone. 1184 2155 2005
