Background

Qiusheng is a youth from a modern era who transmigrated into the body of Uncle Nine's eldest disciple in a world plagued by ghosts and zombies. For three days, he waited for a “golden finger” before the Exorcism-to-Strengthen System finally bound to him. The system resembles a ghost-catching upgrade game he played in his previous life and lets him convert Exorcism Points into cultivation, lifespan, and mastery of recorded Daoist arts 1.

The body’s original soul later reappears as a wandering ghost. Qiusheng identifies it as the former owner of his body, kills an old ghost, then spends Exorcism Points to devour the original soul. The act settles the threat to his identity while greatly improving his talent and comprehension 8.

Before joining Uncle Nine, Qiusheng lost both biological parents in an accident and was raised by his aunt at her rouge shop. He later met Uncle Nine and left to learn Maoshan arts 49.

Qiusheng is a tall, handsome young man whose appearance initially leads Qiang San to mistake him for a merely decorative “pretty face” rather than a capable fighter 17.

Qiusheng begins as lazy, smug, and eager to exploit every advantage offered by his system. He openly regards ghosts, demons, and even Walking Corpses as potential sources of Exorcism Points, which leads him to destroy seven of Taoist Four Eyes’ “customers” before learning who they belong to 12. Uncle Nine frequently restrains his pride by downplaying his talent and comparing him to his Eldest Martial Uncle 9 14.

Despite his arrogance, Qiusheng is observant and adaptable in dangerous situations. He notices evil auras, identifies flaws in feng shui, prepares tools ahead of major rituals, and quickly shifts from combat to protecting civilians when crises escalate 2 3 19 26. He also observes a personal boundary against using Daoist arts to casually harm ordinary people, even after being insulted 48.

Qiusheng traps the grove’s Demon Spirit with the Three Altars Demon-Subduing Array, but Wencai accidentally destroys the formation and becomes possessed. Qiusheng exorcises the spirit with Palm Thunder, completing his first major mission and earning 100 Exorcism Points 3 4 5.

Training at the Public Mortuary

Uncle Nine gives Qiusheng the Lightning Bolt Fist manual and later teaches him the Heavenly Dipper Bagua Steps. Taoist Four Eyes arrives, recognizes the quality of Qiusheng’s footwork, and agrees to guide him in the God-Inviting Technique 6 9 10.

Qiusheng’s enhanced comprehension allows him to enter enlightenment, absorb primordial harmonious yang energy at sunrise, and significantly advance his mastery of the Heavenly Dipper Bagua Steps 13 14.
