"Cooperation?"
Little Alessa in purple tilted her head curiously. She looked again at Wu Heng's police uniform and asked, "Then, Johnny, what if our cooperation conflicts with your duty as a police officer?"
"Would you be willing to give up your interests and sacrifice yourself for the United States?"
"Of course not." Wu Heng shook his head. "I'm a selfish person. I value myself more."
Only the few short decades of an ordinary person's life were cheap.
With Wu Heng's current abilities, even he did not know the limit of his lifespan. After all, he no longer even had flesh and blood.
How could he possibly sacrifice his immeasurable lifespan in exchange for the fleeting lives of others, who would eventually die anyway?
Especially not for a foreign country in a story world.
"What if it were a sacrifice for the world? Would you still refuse?" Alessa circled around to Wu Heng's side and leaned forward as she asked, "What if everyone wanted you to sacrifice yourself?"
"I refuse. My life is mine!"
"Anyone who asks me to sacrifice myself wants to kill me, wants my life. Naturally, they become my mortal enemy!"
"If they are enemies, then no matter how many there are, they cannot make me willingly sacrifice myself. If I lack the ability, then so be it. But if I have the ability, I will wipe out their entire clans and leave no roots behind!"
"Mutual destruction is the worst outcome I can accept."
Wu Heng stated it firmly without hiding anything. What he hated most was moral coercion—being forcibly pressured into sacrificing himself for others.
