While the other three were still confused.

Seong-hun swallowed hard, stared at the door, and said with difficulty:

"Ji-hyun, Je-yoon, I just told you that the ritual and the doll in there were all pranks I arranged beforehand."

"But did I ever tell you there was an angle grinder in my backpack? Did either of you know?"

"And the angle grinder was meant to open Room 402."

"Charlotte never touched my backpack, and she didn't know the plan between me, the captain, and Seung-wook. How did she know there was an angle grinder in my bag?!"

Seong-hun gripped the angle grinder tightly.

He had only used it once, a little after seven that evening, when he and Seung-wook had come to the hospital to set up cameras and make their plans, using it to open the iron door to Room 402.

No one besides the two of them knew.

Unless someone else had seen what they did at the time and seen the angle grinder.

But he was certain there had been no one else there. That meant the only thing that had seen him use the angle grinder and knew he had one... was a ghost!

Seung-wook and the other two immediately understood as well.

Ji-hyun covered her mouth and burst into tears. Seung-wook and Je-yoon both stepped away from the iron door.

"Hee hee hee hee!" The eerie laughter came again from the direction of the doll.

Charlotte's voice from inside the door had vanished. The sealed room was utterly silent, as though no living person had ever entered it.

There wasn't even that sixth sense people had when standing close together—the vague awareness of another person nearby through temperature differences or magnetic fields.

It was as if it were a dead room.
