Walter's corpse collapsed to the ground.
His face was pressed into the dirt, yet blood welled up around him like a convex fountain hotpot.
"Where is it? Where is it?"
Hassan Chavez paced in place with his gun raised, aiming into the dark forest around them, his voice urgent.
"Damn it, this is a trap. It hasn't come over yet." Floyd, the gang boss, clenched the dagger in his hand.
"Do you see now? We have to stick together. We can't judge it by normal standards—it's like a cunning beast!"
Still shaken, Alex hoped that the death of that arrogant bastard would make everyone more cautious.
The remaining five did become more vigilant, but they had never received military training, much less could they unite as one, considering they were cops and prisoners.
"How much farther to the riverbank?" Nate asked.
"It's right ahead. About another ten minutes on foot—five if we hurry." Alex pointed ahead.
Ivan and Andrei followed behind. Seeing the man killed by the trap, they became even more alert. They had already discovered three traps along the way.
The deformed man had set up quite a few things in this forest.
Who knew how many people that thing had killed and eaten to grow so large and obtain enough nourishment.
There were probably mountains of bones.
No wonder this forest was so lush. It had likely been nourished by blood.
The two became even more cautious as they moved forward, and even the viewers outside were secretly alarmed by what they were going through.
By now, the survival betting odds on the two had reached 1:1. Their survival odds had dropped by 0.2. It had to be said that humanity's ugliness could be seen from the betting rates alone.
Not everyone wanted the two to survive.
