He had originally intended to call them the Wolf of Fenris, as it would represent both his home and himself.
However, since he would be waging war across the stars in the future, Leman Russ pondered it over and decided that the name Space Wolves was more appropriate.
Russ keenly noticed that this brother seemed to harbor some hostility toward him, but that was fine; according to the traditions of Fenris, the two of them just needed to have a good fight.
In the eyes of the Fenrisians, brothers fighting for no reason was a very friendly form of interaction that could strengthen the bonds between brothers or friends.
Leman Russ had already decided that once he was finished with the matters concerning the Wolf Cubs, he would have a proper bout with this brother.
"I understand. From this day forward, the Sixth Legion is officially renamed the Space Wolves," the Emperor said with a nod.
The Tech-Priests of the Mechanicum and several Imperial officials in the Emperor's entourage immediately began drafting a document to disseminate the Emperor's order to every legion.
This order would spread across all the worlds controlled by the Emperor: the second Primarch of the Empire had returned—Leman Russ, the Primarch of the Sixth Legion, the Space Wolves.
"I salute you, my father!"
"Indeed, my child. I shall prepare a grand banquet to welcome you into the great family of the Empire. From now on, you shall fight for humanity, for the Empire, and for me," the Emperor declared.
"Father! I discovered some good things on the planet Fenris, and I thought they would be useful, so I brought them along," Leman Russ said, nodding to the Emperor before pointing to the eyeball-shaped spaceship behind him.
Emperor had noticed this eyeball-shaped spaceship the moment it entered the hangar. At first, he thought it was just a trinket Russ had brought along, never expecting it to be a gift for him.
Horus, standing beside the Emperor, revealed a faint smile. This little ship looked like nothing more than a small escape pod, not even the size of an Imperial landing craft.
His brother actually considered this thing a treasure! He truly was a barbarian from a primitive world; he had likely never even seen an Imperial battle barge.
"Did you bring a gift for me? Russ, what is this thing?" the Emperor asked with interest.
"There are several! I found them all inside this little ship: combat suits, weapons, a device for measuring combat power, and the most precious item of all, the ship itself," Leman Russ replied.
"Oh! So you consider them very precious?"
"That is correct, my father. These items are incredibly valuable, even thousands of times more precious than your Emperor's Dream," Leman Russ stated.
As soon as these words were spoken, Horus, standing beside the Emperor, couldn't help but snort with laughter. What was his brother thinking? Did he even know the value of the Emperor's Dream?
Even the Adeptus Custodes guarding the Emperor looked at this Primarch from a savage world with a sense of speechlessness.
Even the Space Wolves of the Sixth Legion who had followed Leman Russ looked at their own Primarch with a sense of helplessness.
"Heh! Is that so?" the Emperor chuckled.
"Hahaha! My father, I know you all look down on it, but I assure you, this little ship is worth far more than the Emperor's Dream," Russ insisted.
"Then introduce them to me, my son. If the things you have brought truly can surpass my flagship, then I can grant you a reasonable request as your reward," the Emperor said.
Hearing this, a faint smile appeared at the corner of Axis's mouth. This was exactly what Russ had been waiting for the Emperor to say; the Emperor had taken the bait.
Though his cheap father lived in a savage world, it would be a grave mistake to assume he was just a brainless brute because of it.
His cheap father's mind was sharp indeed!
"You are truly generous, my father. I believe I shall claim that reward, and perhaps more than one, for I am about to show you several priceless treasures. First is this Scouter, which can precisely measure the combat power of any existence." Leman Russ gave Axis a wink.
Axis immediately understood and removed the Scouter he was wearing over his eye, handing it to the Emperor.
Emperor took the device with curiosity, placed it over his own eye, and pressed the button on the side. A series of beeps rang out.
A string of numbers appeared before the Emperor's eyes, displaying the readings for the Space Marines, the Adeptus Custodes, Leman Russ, and even Horus standing nearby.
"Axis, this boy was using this to measure the combat power of my Custodes just now, wasn't he?" the Emperor asked.
"That is correct! I wanted to know what kind of combat power these golden-armored warriors possessed," Axis nodded and replied quite candidly.
Emperor nodded and conducted a few more tests with the Scouter, even scanning several psykers on the ship.
When these psykers were not channeling their warp-based powers, they were like ordinary people, with combat power readings of less than 10.
But once they began to channel the power of the Warp, the numbers on the Scouter began to soar.
The abilities of psykers were formidable; some powerful ones could kill a dozen Space Marines with their bare hands, with combat power reaching into the hundreds or even thousands.
Emperor did not use the scanner to measure his own combat power. His own strength was far greater than that of a Primarch, and if he were to unleash his immense psychic power, this little gadget would likely explode.
According to his estimation, this thing could probably only measure up to about twenty-three thousand; once it exceeded that value, the small chip inside would reach its limit and overload, causing it to explode instantly.
"It is indeed quite practical. This lens could be embedded into the visors of Space Marines in the future. It not only detects physical strength but also energy levels. However, the energy levels must be active; if they are not, it cannot detect them. Furthermore, it can scan for life forms in the vicinity," the Emperor gave the Scouter a very favorable evaluation.
This Scouter would allow Space Marines to better understand their opponents and detect high-energy signatures, making it very convenient for hunting down enemies.
Emperor intended to hand this Scouter over to the Mechanicum of Mars for a thorough study, and then have it equipped for the Space Marines.
"That was only the most unremarkable of them all," Leman Russ said, before pulling out an Energy Gun.
"This is an energy-projection weapon. As for its power, would anyone like to test it?" Leman Russ finished and looked toward the Emperor's Adeptus Custodes.
