The sect was founded by the Heavenly Sword Ancestor. By Mu Hong's era, the sect master position had passed to its seventeenth generation; its ancient founders and reclusive experts had cultivated for over a thousand years. 128 141

Its foundation centered on a mysterious colossal sword within the sect's core region. The sword possessed a spirit and, once every thousand years, selected a successor from within the sect, granting that individual secret arts and sword techniques. 100

Before open war began, the sect covertly recruited talented individuals from the Great Cloud Dynasty, including Lin Xuan. Its conflict with the dynasty had also persisted for years, including its role in obstructing the Prince of Northern Suppression's breakthrough. 31 105 128

As the Great Cloud Dynasty moved to purge overseas factions, major forces gathered under the sect's camp to form the Cloud-Extinguishing Alliance. Recruitment and the Wanyang City Incident

Lin Xuan introduced the Heavenly Sword Sect as a peerless overseas sect and openly invited martial artists to join it. His defeat by Su Yun exposed both the sect's aggressive recruitment in the Great Cloud Dynasty and the danger posed by its disciples. 31

Cloud Sky Secret Realm

The sect and the Great Cloud Dynasty each received twenty guaranteed entry quotas, while sixty further quotas were contested through a sparring tournament. The sect sent nearly twice as many disciples as the dynasty. 90 95

Inside the secret realm, its disciples targeted Su Yun and other Great Cloud-affiliated talents. The sect supplied Ye Xiao with a black strange stone to enhance his Sword Intent and arranged for a Demon Soul Hall assassin to cooperate against Su Yun. 107 112 113
