Sasuke was born into the Uchiha Clan and trained intensely to earn Fugaku's recognition. At the Ninja Academy, he became a top graduate and formed a rivalry with Naruto. Itachi later interpreted that rivalry as the possibility that Sasuke could become a bridge between the Uchiha and Konoha. Fugaku accepted death during the clan massacre in part because he believed Sasuke would survive and realize that future. 194 195 240
