On the surface of the demonic star "Wormwood" above Void City, Sui Xiong watched the cracked shell of the demonic star with a grim expression, watching the strange figure hidden within it as it trembled and transformed.
That thing had originally been a black dragon, but now... even Sui Xiong had no idea what it was supposed to be.
In only a short while, more than half of its body had melted away. Its lower half had practically become a puddle of sludge, yet its dragon head, wings, and other parts were more or less intact. Most bizarrely, despite suffering such horrifying injuries, it not only did not collapse, but instead let out a sinister cackle as its aura steadily rose.
Of course, Sui Xiong was not about to stand there like some idiot in a children's anime and watch the enemy transform. He had already struck first, hurling a powerful spell straight at the black dragon.
Yet the mighty magic, capable of flattening an entire mountain, caused only a few ripples when it landed on the black dragon. Not even the slightest wound was visible.
(Magic immunity? Or suppression by rank?)
Sui Xiong frowned. No longer using magic, he raised one tentacle. Its tip grew brighter and brighter until it resembled a tiny sun, then with a hard swing, he smashed it toward the black dragon.
His timing was impeccable. Just as that segment of tentacle reached the black dragon, it exploded with a thunderous boom, bursting into a dazzling spray of sparks.
But when the sparks dispersed, the black dragon had only gained a few insignificant wounds. Its body merely squirmed once or twice, and every wound vanished without a trace, as though it had never been injured at all.
