Under the faint glow of magic, two giant dragons covered from head to toe in smooth, blunt scales, looking honest and harmless, lay sprawled on the ground, drowsily half-asleep.
"Will they be all right?" Sui Xiong had expected Frost and Sleet to cultivate here like old monks in meditation, but not long after moving in, they had become sleepy and lethargic. He could not help feeling worried.
Snowflake watched them carefully for a while, then smiled and shook her head.
"Don't worry, they're fine. Their bodies have simply entered a period of rapid growth, so they have to use sleep to reduce the drain on their minds, allowing them to fully absorb the bloodline powers and knowledge awakening alongside their growth." After thinking for a moment, she casually conjured her usual ice blackboard. Using white snow, she drew an oval egg, then drew a curled-up little dragon inside it, snoring away.
"This is actually equivalent to returning to the state before hatching. Before we dragons hatch, we are in precisely this state of rapid growth. All kinds of knowledge awaken ceaselessly within the bloodline, while power grows swiftly from nothing into something. For higher dragons like me, this is less obvious. But Rock Dragons are lower dragons, so it is especially apparent for them."
Sui Xiong paused in surprise, then asked curiously, "Isn't this kind of growth method great? Why don't higher dragons develop this way instead?"
Snowflake smiled faintly. "It is the result of natural development—you see, the weaker a creature is, the stronger it often is at birth. But powerful creatures are often so weak at birth that they cannot withstand a single blow. Why do you think that is?"
After thinking briefly, Sui Xiong recalled several bits of narration from Animal World that he had watched on
