The divine kingdom Shelter also had sun, moon, and stars. Though they were merely projections, at least visually, they were no different from those of the main plane.

Akein Pasteur, the God of Medicine, sat in the chair where he usually rested, calmly watching the person across from him.

He was a young man with golden hair as dazzling as sunlight, golden eyes equally dazzling, and an entire body radiating an intense aura of life.

Of course, Akein knew that the other man was not young at all. In fact, he was older than most of the gods in the Pantheon.

As one of the high elf heroes who had once followed the Goddess of Life into battle, the great druid known as the "Beast Inquisitor," Badi Brista, had once been a powerful demigod. Though he had not ascended to godhood, his strength was enough to rival many true gods. Later, the Goddess of Life vanished, and most high elves vanished along with her. Only a handful of powerful high elves, including him, remained behind to safeguard elven civilization.

Many years later, the Lord of Mysteries launched a war against the elven race. That war was fought with terrible brutality. Nearly all the elven gods fell, and the powerful high elves were almost entirely killed or wounded. The Beast Inquisitor displayed tremendous might in that battle, slaying many of the Lord of Mysteries' divine envoys, but in the end, he was outnumbered and vanished from the battlefield.

For nearly a thousand years afterward, he never appeared in the mortal world again, and everyone believed that he had died in battle. Yet around a millennium later, he reappeared among mortals, looking exactly as he had in the past. Only his strength had fallen dramatically, dropping to the legendary realm.
