Tracing back a thousand years was no easy task, even for a god. If he were merely investigating a fixed time and place, that would be one thing. But like Sui Xiong, continuously tracing his own experiences across more than a thousand years, maintaining an intense retrospective vision spanning millennia at every moment... only a powerful god like him could manage it. For anyone else—mortals need not even be mentioned—even ordinary gods would be exhausted by it.
Sui Xiong himself was not having an easy time either, so he decided to rest first. Once his mind had recovered, he would continue tracing the whereabouts of his physical body.
After all... if his body was still there, having soaked in the water for a thousand years already, surely it would not mind soaking for another two or three days.
And if his body was already gone, what difference did it make whether he investigated now or a few days later?
If his body had been eaten by some fish or swept away by the sea, then who knew how much longer this investigation would have to continue? Compared to that, what did a few days of rest amount to?
So, after thinking it through, Sui Xiong abandoned his original plan to find his body's whereabouts in one vigorous push. He leisurely returned to his divine kingdom, flopped back onto the table in the council hall, and resumed his limp pose of "Ahh, I'm exhausted, I need to rest for a while."
Incidentally, Veye had given this marvelous pose a name: the "jellyfish sprawl."
Perhaps it was coincidence, or perhaps it was some vague resonance of divinity. Sui Xiong had only just sprawled down to rest and recalled how Veye had named this pose when Veye came to visit.
