Tuya'an did not let his mood interfere with his work. He quickly finalized the contract with Mayor Almark, then returned to Gold Rush Town to sign it.
Afterward, Mayor Almark gathered the town's residents and announced the matter.
Everyone was rather surprised to hear that a group of skeletons outside town would be doing unpaid labor for them. Some timid people hurriedly asked in detail where the construction site was, then declared that they would never go in that direction again—not even glance that way.
Others had their concerns, worrying that something unexpected might happen. But Mayor Almark persuaded them—no matter what, increasing the town's income was the most important thing. Compared to the prospect of gaining a new farm in the near future, the threat posed by a mere group of skeletons was indeed acceptable.
Besides, the threat was not actually that great. Gold Rush Town was not without armed forces. A patrol of thirty people, led by two retired mid-rank adventurers, would be more than enough to crush two hundred ordinary skeletons with ease. If anything really happened, everyone only needed to run back into town and have the patrol mobilize.
After all, the skeletons could hardly charge into the purification formation!
Just as Mayor Almark had expected beforehand, with the purification formation as their trump card, Gold Rush Town's residents were not all that afraid of the skeletons. Some bolder people even volunteered to serve as inspectors, making regular trips to check on the skeletons' work.
And so the matter was settled. Everyone was delighted.
Satisfied, Tuya'an returned to the magic tower and told his younger sister about what he had gained from the trip. The next day, he set out again, heading for Glimmerstone City.
