"Why, though?" Sui Xiong pondered for a while, yet still could not understand why that entirely ordinary-looking new mass-produced breastplate could withstand Great Disjunction. Unable to make heads or tails of it, he could only temporarily become an elementary school student and ask out of curiosity.
The Rune God smiled. Like an old schoolmaster, he stroked his long white beard and said, "The key lies in 'uniformity.' Great Disjunction essentially seeks out flaws in a target's structure, then destroys them. But when faced with something uniform in texture, it has nowhere to exert its power. This has long been known—for example, if you carve a shield from a single, uniform piece of crystal, it can block the spell."
Sui Xiong blinked. He truly had not known that.
Not only had he not known; most other gods probably did not know either. This was likely a result the dwarf gods had researched on their own, wasn't it?
"And this armor's greatest feature is precisely its uniformity," said the Rune God. "How marvelous! Its degree of uniformity is practically like crystal... I never imagined metal could be made this uniform!"
But Sui Xiong had guessed the reason—the steel ingots used to make this armor came from molten iron poured out of blast furnaces. Since the molten iron had to be stirred repeatedly during production, its texture was relatively uniform. Compared with steel made through other methods, it was naturally far more uniform.
"Unfortunately, this material's uniformity is still slightly lacking," the Rune God said regretfully. "If its texture could be made even more uniform, the power of Great Disjunction would have nowhere to lodge itself, and thus could not destroy the sections connecting the armor plates. Instead, the instant it struck, unable to find any 'uneven place' to inhabit, it would dissipate
