"What on earth are they thinking?" Sui Xiong lay sprawled on the ground, pretending to sleep soundly, though he was actually wide awake. Within his soul perception, at the foot of the mountain some five or six li away, two white-haired mages, so old they looked practically like dried corpses, were discussing something nervously while cautiously watching this place.

After landing, the mage who looked older called out, "Your Majesty Void Mask! Your Majesty Void Mask!"
Sui Xiong ignored him, continuing to pretend he was asleep.
The two mages looked at each other. The slightly younger one's hand flashed with light as he cast a simple spell: Sonic Burst.
This spell was quite common, one even low-level spellcasters could use. Usually, however, it was priests who cast it; most mages could not learn it—of course, for legendary mages, such things were no problem. They did not even need to study it specifically. With a little thought, they could cast the spell convincingly enough.
The spell was not very powerful, but it could produce a thunderous boom. To ordinary people, that boom would leave them dizzy and disoriented for anywhere from a few seconds to half a minute, unable to
