The Lord of Mysteries' divine kingdom was called the "Seven-Colored Springs." It was located in the "Rainbow Country" on the front side of the World Ring.
The Rainbow Country was not actually a country. In truth, it was an immensely vast plain, far larger than even the main plane. Springs and sunlight covered this wilderness, and countless beautiful, colorful creatures lived there.
At the center of this plain stood the Seven-Colored Springs.
Like other divine kingdoms, this one did not rest on the ground, but hung in the sky. It resembled a ball of seven-colored light, suspended above an enormous spring at the center of the Rainbow Country. Strands of divine power fell from it and mingled with the spring water, transforming beneath the sunlight into a colossal rainbow.
That was how the Seven-Colored Springs got its name.
The scenery within the divine kingdom was not much different from that outside: equally bright and warm, with springs draped in rainbows everywhere. At the center of the divine kingdom was another large spring. The Lord of Mysteries usually took the form of an old man with colorful hair and sat quietly beside it in meditation.
On this day, He was meditating when He suddenly frowned and stood up.
"Void Mask has come," He told the God of Spellcasters beside Him. "I fear he has come with ill intent."
The God of Spellcasters was startled. "Should we prepare for battle?"
"I hope it will not come to that." The Lord of Mysteries sighed and sent an avatar out of the divine kingdom. It happened to encounter Sui Xiong, who came roaring all the way over, and the two faced each other outside the divine kingdom.
The sunlight was gentle and the breeze warm, yet a distinct chill flowed between the two gods.
