Background

Ning Zha was born into a collateral family of the Seven Treasures Glazed Sect as the third son of Ning Jing and Yin Suzhi, with two older brothers, Ning Jin and Ning Mu. He retained memories of a past life in which he was named Ning Huo. Although born with unusually strong vitality, he failed to awaken a martial soul at age six and possessed zero innate soul power, causing his father to abandon all expectations for him. 1

At seven, Ning Zha witnessed a direct descendant of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan abduct a girl and kill her father. Despite having no martial soul or soul power, he intervened with his bare fists and crippled the perpetrator. 2

Elder Yu Kun demanded Ning Zha's life in retaliation. Rather than defend him, Ning Jing physically assaulted Ning Zha and surrendered him to the clan to avoid political consequences. Ning Zha publicly severed his ties with the Ning Clan, injured himself in a symbolic attempt to return his flesh and bones to his parents, then slit his own throat before Yu Kun could take him. 1 2 3

The Ning family refused to inter him in its ancestral hall, and Yin Suzhi buried him on a remote slope outside Heaven Dou City. Qiangu Jun and Qiangu Po later discovered that he had revived: an unknown force emerging from his blood, bones, and organs had healed every fatal wound without leaving scars. Appearance

Ning Zha was initially a delicate, androgynously beautiful seven-year-old with a straight posture despite his small stature. During his transformation, his body regressed until he appeared to be a swaddled infant. 1 28

He is exceptionally resolute for his age. Faced with Yu Kun's threats and Ning Jing's abuse, he chose to bear responsibility alone rather than allow retaliation against his family or the victimized girl. His final public defiance was driven by hatred toward injustice and a refusal to surrender his dignity. 2 3
