Heaven-Defying Dao Lord

Inside the quiet room of the Flying Feather Pavilion.

Tianqingzi sat cross-legged before a long table, picked up a wine flagon, poured himself a cup of fine wine, and sipped it leisurely.

Before him were various food and drink, the rich aroma of which permeated the space.

I am still the one who is carefree and relaxed. Although I have lost my freedom and can only serve as a slave, there are benefits to following a monster of a master like him, Tianqingzi muttered to himself, casting a glance at the magnificent palace in the distance.

Even though I have long been a Fourth Step Dao Lord on the verge of merging with the Dao, being able to follow such a monstrous master... perhaps there is still a sliver of a chance for me to achieve eternal Dao-merging in the future.

Before this, Tianqingzi had only two obsessions. The first was achieving eternal Dao-merging, which was the greatest obsession in the hearts of countless Dao Lords.

The second was the Tianqing Sect, to which he belonged.

In the past, the Tianqing Sect had never possessed a powerful Dao Lord capable of shouldering the sect, so Tianqingzi, as its master, had never prepared to merge with the Dao.

But now, Dao Lord Chounu of the Tianqing Sect had perished, and Tianqingzi himself had become a servant to another; the entire sect was left with only a single First Step Dao Lord.

By now, this second obsession of Tianqingzi's had faded.
