Ren Xiu froze, sitting dumbly in her chair. Her throat bobbed before she realized there were no hands, no blood—only countless raindrops still drumming against the window.
Letting out a breath, her modest chest rose and fell unsteadily as Ren Xiu decided to get up and draw the curtains.
Just then, a silver dragon flashed across the sky, illuminating the pitch-black world outside for an instant.
