Background

Jiraiya is a disciple of the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and is counted among Konoha’s legendary Sannin. His standing and popularity were established during the Third Shinobi War, while his hidden strength is compared by Ueno Kei to the overwhelming presence of the Third Hokage. 107 108

He spent long periods traveling outside Konoha, returning only intermittently.
