History
Ancient sealing
The Demon World retained several Demon Emperors from the ancient war against humanity. Nine Nether, then a mid-stage Demon Emperor, required several human Martial Emperors to seal; his true body remained imprisoned in the Nine Nether Demon Abyss for tens of thousands of years 77.
Heaven-Burying was likewise sealed in the Heaven-Burying Abyss. During his confinement, he cultivated with the Myriad Dao Emperor Cauldron, seeking to overcome the incomplete laws of the Demon World and reach the peak of the Demon Emperor realm 184.
Nine Nether's projection
Nine Nether rewarded the Red-Eyed Demon Saint with the one-use Emperor Blood Crystal after the Saint helped breach three human royal capitals. The crystal could summon a projection containing a portion of Nine Nether's power despite the seal preventing his true body from descending 72.
The projection descended against Lin Changqing in the Demon Realm, manifesting with Emperor-level pressure and nine Life-Bound Ghost Fires. Lin destroyed it with the Great Wilderness Demon-Subduing Fist, annihilating all nine fires in the process 77 78 80.
The inheritance-space trap
Demon Saints later used the Soul-Devouring Emperor Bone Blade, a tenth-tier supreme-grade weapon forged from the corpse-bones of an ancient peak Demon Emperor. A sacrificed Demon Saint awakened the remnant soul within the blade, which demanded further human sacrifices in exchange for its aid 149 150.
The remnant soul, identified as the will of the Xuanhuang Emperor Monarch, was ultimately dispersed by Lin Changqing's combined sword, fist, and seal techniques 151 195.
Fall of the three Demon Emperors
When the Demon World's seal shattered, Nine Nether, Soul-Eroding, and Heaven-Burying regained their freedom and sought vengeance against Lin Changqing and humanity 201. Nine Nether and Soul-Eroding joined forces against him but refused to surrender their divine souls, choosing death over servitude 205 206.
Lin Changqing killed Nine Nether and Soul-Eroding before confronting Heaven-Burying. Although Heaven-Burying had reached the peak realm and fused with the Myriad Dao Emperor Cauldron, Lin Changqing seized the cauldron, defeated him, and survived his corpse's self-destruction 208 210 212.
Appearance
No single appearance is shared by all Demon Emperors; known holders differ greatly in form and bearing.
- Nine Nether Demon Emperor — A colossal scaled demon with two horns, pitch-black eyes containing ghostly green flames, and nine floating clusters of ghostfire 77 184.
- Heaven-Burying Demon Emperor — A stern, middle-aged man in jet-black battle armor, with long dark-purple hair and a destructive aura that distorts surrounding space 184 207.
- Jade-Eyed Demon Emperor — A sinister middle-aged man in dark-green robes, with dark-purple lips, crimson vertical-slit pupils, and immense poisonous demon power 331.
Personality
Nine Nether was initially confident that a projection containing ten percent of his power could effortlessly kill a Half-Emperor. After Lin Changqing destroyed it, he became wary of Lin's Demon-Subduing Lineage techniques and waited for the seal's collapse to seek revenge personally 80 205.
Soul-Eroding and Nine Nether displayed fierce pride. Both rejected Lin Changqing's offer to spare them in exchange for submission, considering the surrender of their divine souls worse than death 206.
Heaven-Burying was ambitious and patient, spending nearly ten thousand years cultivating toward the peak realm so he could lead the demon race back to dominance. His confidence in his breakthrough turned to disbelief when Lin Changqing defeated him 184 207 212.
Jade-Eyed is prideful, predatory, and vengeful. He viewed Lin Changqing as prey, but became enraged after being deceived by Lin's feigned surrender and escape talisman 332 334.
Abilities & Skills
Emperor-level pressure
Demon Emperors possess pressure far beyond the Saint Realm; even a projection can suppress living beings over thousands of miles and make peak Martial Saints fear for their lives 77 81.
- A true Demon Emperor projection was considered sufficient to kill a peak Martial Saint 72.
- Emperor-level clashes shattered space, devastated inheritance spaces, and produced shockwaves dangerous to nearby Martial Saints 151.
- The death of a Demon Emperor caused blood rain and a mournful heavenly cry across the Demon World 208 212.
Nine Nether's projection and ghostfire
Nine Nether could bestow an Emperor Blood Crystal that summoned a power projection when infused with demonic power 72 77.
- The projection manifested with dark-purple scales, horns, and nine Life-Bound Ghost Fires 77.
- Its power was limited by the seal and by the projection's incomplete share of Nine Nether's true strength 80.
- The Great Wilderness Demon-Subduing Fist naturally suppressed its demonic power and destroyed the projection's ghostfires 78 80.
Heaven-Burying's destructive arts
Heaven-Burying wielded destructive demon power at the peak Demon Emperor realm.

- Heavenly Demon Phantom Art — Creates nine identical clones alongside his true body, allowing ten Emperor-aura figures to flee in different directions 211.
- Myriad Dao Emperor Cauldron fusion — Fusing with the cauldron substantially enhanced his combat power, though Lin Changqing later tore the cauldron away and suppressed it with the Zhentian Seal 210 211.
Jade-Eyed's pursuit techniques
Jade-Eyed's peak Heaven Immortal cultivation gave him exceptional perception and battlefield control.
- Detected a nearly imperceptible trace of human immortal power without actively using divine sense 331.
