Everyone, please refresh and take a look at Chapter 400.

A lot has happened over this past month or so. Look, I've been on break for nearly ten days now, and things change every single day.

So much has occurred in between; to sum it up, it's just exhausting, exhausting, exhausting.

Writing a book is tiring, and it's even more so when you have a lot of life matters to deal with. On top of that, there's the worry about performance and whether the writing is just filler.

There's no helping the filler; it's just Cang Jian's natural writing style. It looks slow and repetitive, which bothers me too, but it's very hard to change.

I'm terrified of letting you all down. I've broken my word so many times that I don't even want to make promises anymore; I can't keep them anyway, which is a major personal flaw of mine.

The book's performance has dropped, and there aren't any recommendations or anything, but maintaining it at the current level is alright, I suppose.

Cang Jian is definitely writing with sincerity. I put real thought into my wording; I'm not intentionally padding the word count. This is just my writing style. I took a look at the beginning, and it was the same way—nothing has changed.

Then there's the desire to start a new book, but I've never had the time to write it, largely because I'm worried the second one might be even worse than this one.

I plan to release a burst of chapters during this break. Hmm... once I finish reading Striving in the Red Chamber, which I'm almost done with.
