Aizen merely listened to the Emperor's words with a calm expression, remaining silent. In his heart, he had gained a general understanding of what had happened in this world.
The two slowly walked forward, leaving the lush forest behind.
A gentle breeze swept past, carrying several leaves down with it. The next moment, a broad expanse opened up before them.
Yellow fields planted with crops stretched across the land in neat, tiered rows.
The green seedlings had not yet fully grown, only sprouting in orderly rows across the terraced fields. Not a single person could be seen in the empty farmland; they had all fled early due to the disturbance caused by the dragon beasts.
Aizen calmly watched the scene, his face utterly expressionless. The Emperor likewise stepped forward, his expression grave as he looked at the fields before him. After a long silence, he spoke.
"If we allow the dragon beasts to freely absorb the power of the earth veins, the surrounding land will become a wasteland."
"Without food... the people of my Ancestor Country will not survive this harsh winter."
As he said this, he clenched his fist tightly and spoke in a deep voice.
"Dragon beasts... are the calamity of this world!"
Aizen did not answer the Emperor's words. Though he had only just arrived in this world, he vaguely sensed that things were not so simple.
As for what exactly was hidden behind all this, he would likely find out soon enough.
At that thought, a sharp glint flashed through Aizen's eyes.
Seeing that Aizen did not respond to his words, the Emperor hesitated, as though he wanted to say something more. Yet after wavering for a long time, he ultimately said nothing.
The group continued slowly toward the Royal Capital of the Ancestor Country.
