At Aikawa's words, Kaguya's fair little face froze slightly. Aizen, however, remained calm, unsurprised by what he had said.
"Clip-clop, clip-clop..."
Just then, the sound of galloping hooves came from afar.
Hearing it, the villagers standing nearby all changed expression. Aikawa's aged face stiffened as well. Out of the corner of his eye, he looked in terror at the dust rising in the distance, panic filling his face as he hurriedly said, "Y-you two should leave quickly! Lord Shikada is coming!"
Neither Aizen nor Kaguya paid heed to Aikawa's words. They simply stood calmly where they were, slowly turning to look at the approaching figure.
Aizen looked at the burly, armored man on horseback. His deep eyes were utterly indifferent as he softly asked, "Kaguya, do you know why wars have always occurred throughout history?"
At Aizen's question, Kaguya's fair little face fell silent. After a moment, she looked up at him and softly replied, "Because evil people exist?"
"People who seek peace are oppressed by evil people, and such acts eventually lead to the outbreak of war..."
Kaguya's voice was cold and clear, while Aizen's was calm and magnetic.
Neither of them made any effort to avoid the villagers present with their conversation. The villagers were left bewildered, unable to understand what these two seemingly extraordinary people were talking about.
Aizen gently shook his head at Kaguya's answer. The corners of his lips lifted slightly as he chuckled. "That is too one-sided."
"At its root, the beginning of war is nothing more than humanity's excessively inflated desires."
As he said this, Aizen raised his eyes slightly and looked at the burly man galloping toward them, his face covered in flesh. He smiled. "Human intelligence far surpasses that of animals. And because of this, intelligent people are no longer content
