Background / History

Minato was trained by Jiraiya from a young age. He displayed unusual aptitude for high-speed ninjutsu, successfully performing the Body Flicker Technique with virtually no stagnation on his first attempt and naming the technique “Shining Zero Style.” 296 He later studied incomplete Flying Thunder God records and developed the basic formulae independently. 325

In his early association with Aizen Sosuke, Minato was a Hyuga clansman bearing the Byakugan and intense hatred for the world. After Aizen found him amid a massacre, Minato pledged himself as Aizen’s blade and received unspecified unique abilities through the Hogyoku. 100 He subsequently accompanied Aizen and Tokino to the Altar of Wind, fought Sand and Rain ninja, and helped confront Hanzo. 107 108 146
