"Parker, I warned you not to get close to Mary-Jane." The blond-haired youth in the lead marched straight up to Peter and said with a vicious look, "But it's quite clear that you treated my words as nothing more than wind in your ears."
"Flash, we were just having a simple chat. Besides, I don't think you have any right to manage this; you aren't Mary's boyfriend!" Peter retorted without hesitation, even though his legs felt a little weak from fear of the hulking brute standing before him.
"It seems your skin is itching for a beating again." Hearing Peter's words, Flash laughed in extreme anger. "Perhaps we should let you review some of our previous 'lessons'."
"That's right!"
"Exactly!"
The two guys behind Flash chimed in immediately, their behavior causing Peter's face to turn pale. Then, the pair cast unkind looks at Dilos, who was standing next to Peter.
One of them, who was relatively short, said, "I've never seen you before. Are you with him?"
It was no wonder they thought that way. Not to mention that Dilos was standing right beside Peter, the thick-rimmed glasses Dilos wore made him look ridiculous and gave him an air that was far too similar to Peter Parker's.
Commonly known as the aura of a dorky nerd who looked like a pushover.
Flash noticed Dilos's attire at this moment and sneered, "Birds of a feather, I see."
"Heh."
Dilos suddenly laughed. When Peter, standing beside him, saw him smile, he felt a chill wash over his mind for no apparent reason.
Likewise, the three of them—Flash and his lackeys—felt a sudden surge of irritation upon hearing that 'heh' from Dilos.
"Tsk." Flash didn't speak, but the short man beside him, annoyed by Dilos's smile, let out a dissatisfied click of his tongue. He stepped forward and reached out, attempting to give him a hard shove.
Unexpectedly, just as the short man reached out, his vision blurred, and a sharp, intense pain suddenly shot through his forearm.
"Ah!!"
The intense pain forced a scream from the short man. Only then did he realize that everything before him had changed. Dilos's large hand, with its long, slender fingers, had gripped his forearm at some point. The strength was so great that not only was he unable to break free, but he was also overcome by excruciating agony.
The short man tried to struggle, but Dilos's hand was like an iron vice; the more he struggled, the more it hurt, until he was forced to his knees in pain, begging for mercy:
"It hurts! Please, I was wrong, let me go."
But Dilos had no intention of letting go. He shifted his eyes toward Flash and the remaining lackey, his face full of mockery.
The sudden turn of events shook the minds of the other three so violently that they were momentarily stunned. However, when the short man's scream rang out, they snapped back to reality. Flash reacted the fastest; seeing his subordinate restrained by someone else, he subconsciously recoiled.
But upon seeing his lackey screaming in Dilos's grip, Flash ultimately didn't run away. He cursed under his breath and threw a fierce punch at Dilos.
Flash was tall and, thanks to years of training, possessed a very muscular and well-built physique. His strength was immense; one could faintly hear the sound of the air being torn as he swung his fist, showing he was no slouch. This physical advantage made most people afraid to provoke him. Coupled with the fact that he was a starter on the school basketball team, he was one of the more popular types in school.
It was just a pity that Flash's character was poor. While this popularity satisfied his vanity, it also nurtured his worst traits. This led him to form cliques in school and frequently bully his classmates.
Since no one dared to cause trouble for Flash, his behavior became increasingly excessive, until he met Dilos.
Dilos didn't even look at the incoming fist. He didn't even bother to tense his muscles, simply raising his free hand to block it casually.
With a dull thud, Dilos only felt his skin itch slightly, but Flash felt as if his fist had struck a stone. The rebounding force made his palm ache terribly. Not only that, but his entire arm went numb from the impact.
"Hmph." Dilos let out a cold snort, channeling a subtle, clever force from his shoulder through his arm and directly into Flash. The latter felt an irresistible power surge from Dilos, and after being shoved, he tumbled heavily to the ground.
This blow completely sobered Flash up; he realized he was no match for Dilos. Having spent so long bullying others with his strength, he now tasted what it was like to be bullied by someone else's power. This abrupt change left Flash momentarily dazed.
As for the remaining lackey, seeing his 'colleague' and his boss fall one after another to Dilos, he left behind a "this has nothing to do with me" and fled without a shred of loyalty.
Only then did Dilos release the short man's arm. Once the man felt his arm was free, he clutched it, retreated to Flash's side with a look of terror, and examined his hand cautiously.
At the sight of it, his face turned white.
A deep, red handprint was left on the short man's arm, and the skin around the print looked pale and bruised. This sight made the short man think of something ominous, and his eyes turned red.
"Relax, you won't be crippled." Dilos twisted his neck and stretched his arms and shoulders, causing his bones to crackle and pop.
"Your bones aren't broken. That condition is just because I held you for too long, restricting your blood flow. It will return to normal once the circulation improves. You might have a minor muscle strain, though. Go to the hospital, get some ointment, and rest for a week or two, and you'll be fine."
Dilos said this as he walked slowly toward the two of them.
Seeing Dilos approaching, Flash and his companion subconsciously backed away. Dilos's previous actions had clearly left them with a psychological shadow, making them feel that the man before them was terrifying.
"Get lost. But if I see you bullying people again, it won't be as simple as just taking a few days off..."
Dilos didn't say anything more. Having received their 'eviction notice,' the two scrambled away, supporting each other in a rather pathetic and disheveled state.
