The Hearing Begins

The moment Diloss and Qin Jiayin entered, they saw a kind-faced, middle-aged man with long hair in a suit walking toward them.

"Dilos Sullivan."

With a smile, the man extended his hand. "I'm Hank McCoy. Charles must have mentioned me to you."

Dilos smiled and nodded, reaching out to shake his hand.

Of course, he knew who Hank McCoy was. The man had been one of the original X-Men, codenamed Beast, as well as an incredibly accomplished scientist proficient in physics, chemistry, and biology. All the piles of sci-fi-like high-tech weaponry and equipment at X-Mansion had been created by him.

Ordinarily, Hank was in a blue-furred, half-human, half-beast form. The reason he appeared here looking like a normal person was presumably because he had used a special serum he developed to temporarily suppress his mutant traits.

"It's been a long time, Mr. McCoy."

Qin Jiayin smiled and extended her hand from beside him. "I'm still more used to how you looked when I first met you. I'm really not used to seeing you like this."

Back when Qin Jiayin had been a reserve X-Man, she had met the other team members and knew more or less about their abilities.

"You too, Jiayin. Lately, you've become... hmm... even prettier than before."

There was something strange in Hank's tone. After shaking Jiayin's hand, he looked between the two of them with some hesitation before cautiously lowering his voice to ask, "You two really haven't had cosmetic surgery?"

Although Charles had already explained what had happened, Hank still found it hard to believe. Even at his age, he felt that these two kids were simply far too exceptional in appearance.

"What do you think, Mr. McCoy? And if it were cosmetic surgery, would you like to get some done too?"
