After learning the Tesseract's exact location, Megatron did not rush to send anyone to seize it. Instead, he began constructing a Space Bridge.

With spatial technology like the GroundBridge, they could seize the Tesseract whenever they wanted. But as the leader of the Decepticons, Megatron had to consider more than that.

For example, after seizing the Tesseract, how would they deal with those drawn over by the energy it emitted? The Tesseract was one of the few treasures in the universe that could rival the AllSpark. There were as many powerful beings in the universe coveting such a treasure as one could imagine.

The Decepticons' overall combat strength had been severely diminished by the Cybertronian civil war. If they faced those pursuers, not only might they fail to keep the Tesseract, they could even be wiped out by those powerful beings.

That was precisely why Megatron needed to build a Space Bridge. Compared to a GroundBridge, which could only teleport within the confines of a planet, a Space Bridge that could travel anywhere in the universe was not only more convenient for evasion, but also better for searching for and transporting supplies.

There were not many beings in the universe who possessed spatial technology like the Cybertronians. Once the Space Bridge was completed, Megatron could swiftly gather all kinds of resources from the planets they had marked in the past, building weapons, fortresses, and even containers capable of shielding the Tesseract's energy.

With such containers, they would no longer need to worry that the energy leaking out during the seizure of the Tesseract would draw the attention of other powerful beings. Then, if the entire Decepticon army hid somewhere in the universe through the Space Bridge, even those who came after them would have no idea where they had gone.
