Within the Kamar-Taj mage sanctuary, in Ancient One's private chamber.
Dilos and Ancient One stood at the center. Mysterious, intricate golden magical runes covered everything around them, from the floor to the walls. Dilos's entire body had long since been enveloped by his biological field, while his hands shone with a brilliant golden light from the concentrated gathering of true essence. Ancient One, meanwhile, formed a strange hand seal, her body tightly encircled by countless tiny golden magical runes.
However, whether they were the runes on Ancient One's body or those within the chamber, their forms remained somewhat blurred. They had clearly only begun to solidify and had yet to reach their completed state.
Then Ancient One suddenly swept both hands outward, and the vast energy within her surged wildly into the magical runes on her body and throughout the chamber.
The instant the energy poured in, the runes blazed with dazzling golden light as though they had been drugged, rapidly solidifying at a visible pace.
Whoosh!
Thud!
After a series of rushing, water-like sounds, a heavy thud rang out around them, and the runes finally became completely solid.
The runes had been fully constructed. Though Ancient One's expression remained impassive, the fine sweat beading on her forehead showed that the task had been far from easy.
"You should rest first."
Seeing this, Dilos, standing behind Ancient One, could not help advising her. Even someone like him, who knew nothing about magic, could tell that she had expended a great deal of energy engraving those magical runes.
Ancient One did not stand on ceremony. She nodded, then sat cross-legged on the floor to rest.
Dilos also drew the true essence back into his body and quietly waited for Ancient One to finish resting.
However, since Ancient One would need quite
