Black Dilos Reappears (Part 2)

The serum's alteration of the body was ultimately a process of invasion, breakdown, construction, then replication and differentiation.

Previously, because his cultivation realm had been insufficient and the extent of the alteration relatively low, he had not felt much.

But now, after undergoing such an extensive transformation, Dilos could clearly feel exactly what the process of alteration was like.

Perhaps because he had already attained a soul, he was exceptionally sensitive to this transformation and could even clearly perceive the changes in his own body.

It was an unending cycle of splitting, reassembling, breaking down, and reassembling.

Every breakdown brought immense pain, while every reassembly brought an even more mysterious sense of comfort and power. Under such circumstances, he had to rely on the black giant cocoon that wrapped around him.

This pitch-black cocoon, resembling a gigantic chicken—or dragon—egg, could not only preserve the heat Dilos released during the enhancement process, but also prevent him from losing any flesh or blood while he was breaking down and reassembling.

Moreover, during this process, Dilos had to use the changes in his physical body to make adaptive adjustments to his soul. Therefore, he could not use soul power to block out his pain. Instead, he had to use it to strengthen his sensory connection.

As a result, even though Dilos suffered incomparably, he still had to continue.

But pain was pain, and it was worth enduring.

Because, in Dilos's view, the benefits brought after this pain were unparalleled.

During the repeated cycle of bodily breakdown and reconstruction, even through the false core, Dilos could feel the soul within it becoming increasingly solid and stable. Naturally, the changes to his soul were accompanied by the frenzied consumption of large amounts of true essence. Fortunately, this consumption was nowhere near as exaggerated as before.
