Before Dilos destroyed Dark Phoenix's consciousness...
After Ancient One and the other mages sealed the fragment of the Phoenix Force, Dilos stepped forward curiously and used his soul vision to inspect Jean's inner consciousness. To his surprise, beside Jean's and Dark Phoenix's consciousnesses was a sphere where gold and black intertwined.
Having watched the entire sealing process, Dilos naturally knew that it was the seal. However, the form the seal had taken left him somewhat puzzled.
The golden part needed no explanation. It was naturally the seal formed by the runes created by Ancient One and the other mages—a shell, or perhaps a locking collar. But the black material seemed as though it had existed long before this.
Why did he say that?
Based on Dilos's previous observations, although this black material had not appeared before the seal was formed, unlike the golden locking collar composed of various runes, it bore not the slightest trace of having been handled by artificial seal-makers such as mages.
Everything about the black material was incomparably natural, as though it had always existed within Jean's body, merely concealing its form. Now, the mages had simply pulled it out, pressed the overwhelmingly powerful Phoenix Force into it, and then sealed it inside a cover formed of golden runes, leaving it unable to move.
Filled with curiosity, Dilos erased Dark Phoenix's consciousness, then used his soul power to investigate what exactly this thing sealing the Phoenix Force fragment was.
The instant he examined it, Dilos shuddered from head to toe.
The golden portion of the seal merely made Dilos feel its power, but the black portion gave him a familiar sense of coldness and deadly danger.
In almost an instant, Dilos, whose calculating and analytical abilities were off the charts, recalled the source of that familiar
