A rugged, muscular middle-aged man with a vicious face, a savage scar beneath one eye, dark skin covered in tattoos, and hair half white and half black stood in a multipurpose laboratory, using a screwdriver to tighten the screws on a circular energy device in his hands.

If Tony had been there, he would have recognized the item in the middle-aged man's hands as an older model of the Arc Reactor he had once used.

If he had taken a closer look at the middle-aged man's face, he would have realized that he was Ivan Vanko, the terrorist who had attacked him at the racetrack over a month ago, been arrested, and supposedly died in a Monaco prison.

Clearly, Ivan Vanko had not died. Someone had secretly moved him elsewhere. Judging from where Ivan was working, the mastermind behind it all was Justin Hammer, the absolute ruler of Hammer Industries.

Behind Ivan stood rows of steel robots in matching colors. Their outward appearance closely resembled Tony's Iron Man suits, though their weapons loadouts and head components differed greatly.

Unlike Tony, every Iron Man suit—or rather, steel robot—Ivan created was remotely controlled. As a result, the robots' head components were not only solid inside, but generally much smaller on the outside as well.

Moreover, these steel robots had highly specialized combat roles, such as aerial combat, ground combat, and naval combat. Naval combat was further divided into pure sea-combat units and marine units. Thus, aside from the two basic functions of flight and miniature automatic hand cannons, each category of robot possessed significantly different armaments. Ground-combat units, for instance, were equipped with shoulder-mounted anti-aircraft cannons, while pure sea-combat units carried shoulder-mounted miniature Patriot air-defense missiles.

Once these weapons entered the battlefield, they would inevitably become unstoppable killing machines. Aside
