Clark is a Kryptonian survivor from the destroyed planet Krypton, where he was known as Kal-El. His cells absorb and store stellar radiation—especially yellow sunlight—granting him extraordinary physical abilities. He was raised on Earth by his adoptive parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent, in Smallville. 2 5
