Background

Gray is a transmigrator who awakens in the body of Fullbuster Gray, a former prince whose kingdom of Tartarus fell after attracting a Celestial Dragon’s attention. He resolves to inherit the predecessor’s grievance and eventually settle the score with the Celestial Dragons. 2 11

He begins his new life as a recruit within the North Blue-based Donquixote Family. Doflamingo gives him a Devil Fruit as compensation for Corazon’s earlier actions, and Gray accepts it as the foundation for becoming strong enough to survive in the world. 2

Though initially reliant on the Donquixote Family’s protection, Gray steadily becomes one of its most valuable combatants. He trains under Diamante, obtains the Six Powers manual through Doflamingo, and develops his Devil Fruit far beyond its recorded use. 6 42 50

Gray ultimately leaves the Donquixote Family to pursue revenge against the Celestial Dragons without implicating Doflamingo’s organization.
