This Is Only the Beginning...

"Seal!"

Finn brought his palms together, and the massive book condensed from light suddenly flipped open. Its pages fluttered like white doves' wings, scattering radiance across the sky and transforming into rune chains that coiled around the severed bases of the Runed Octopus's tentacles, twisting them black and charred.

"Roar—!"

The Runed Octopus let out an inhuman shriek. The sound boomed up from the depths underground, causing spiderweb-like cracks to split open across the ground for a hundred miles. At last, it truly revealed itself from afar—a thousand-zhang-tall body rose from the earth like a mountain awakening from the seabed, blotting out the sky. Its eight main tentacles towered into the heavens, each covered in ancient dark-blue runes.

"As expected of a Quasi-King Tier lord monster..." The smile on Finn's face finally faded somewhat, and his emerald eyes narrowed slightly.

"It's really huge... If it were allowed to run wild, this city wall wouldn't hold for long."

"Then we'll wipe it out beyond the city walls." Teo's voice rumbled like thunder.

His figure transformed into a meteor as he shot into the distance.

A tentacle as massive as a pillar of heaven came crashing down with unstoppable force.

The adventurers atop the walls felt the sky darken, completely swallowed by shadow. Every face was tense to the extreme.

"Chi."

Teo had already raised the emerald wooden spear in his hand. His movement was simple to the extreme—his waist and stance united, the spearhead angled toward the heavens. Yet this simple thrust changed the color of heaven and earth.

There was no light, no flame, no elemental fluctuation. Wherever the spearhead passed, space violently twisted and boiled, like cold water dropped onto red-hot iron. A visible crack spread from the tip of the spear, shooting straight toward the Runed Octopus's head.
