"Ley Line Teleportation Experiment, first trial, begin!"
Shen Le patiently waited for the experts to finish checking and recording all energy readings before giving the order.
At his command, everyone either took their seats or moved against the walls, fastening their seat belts and securing themselves as best they could—
—though these seat belts were completely useless during teleportation and could not stop their wearers from being flung out of space. Still, they were somewhat useful after the teleportation ended.
After all, some people did not adapt well to this sort of thing. A single dizzy spell could send them toppling over; strapped in, at least they would not crash to the floor!
At the same time, a batch of thumb-sized clay figurines leaped out of the Brush Pot, landing on the floor and growing as soon as they met the air.
As they changed from thumb-sized—to finger-sized—to arm-length—to half a person tall—to the height of a full-grown person—they spread their legs and raced toward every corner of the cabin.
Using themselves as energy nodes, they set up the teleportation array and coordinated with Shen Le's output. As the countdown echoed through the cabin, the energy readings on the instruments rose rapidly:
"Three, two, one!"
Everyone felt their vision blur for an instant. It seemed as though something had changed, yet it also seemed as though nothing had. Shen Le's voice drifted through the cabin:
"Trial complete!"
With a flurry of movement, everyone sprang from their seats, unfastened their seat belts, and rushed to their stations. Those assigned to inspect the hull inspected the hull—although Cloud Kun could conduct its own self-check, the researchers' inspection could not be skipped;
