Awakening and Forms

Martial Souls manifest through a spirit-awakening ceremony, generally performed when a child reaches six years old. Awakening stones and a spirit-power array are used to draw out the Martial Soul and test innate Soul Power. 1

A Martial Soul may take the form of a beast, an item, or a more unusual inherited power.

Twin Martial Souls

Twin Martial Souls are an exceptional awakening in which one wielder possesses two distinct Martial Souls. Tai Yi’s pair consists of the Three-Legged Golden Crow and Donghuang Bell. 1

• Tai Yi can manifest and use both Martial Souls at the same time, a trait treated as highly unusual even among twin-Martial-Soul wielders. 1 67
• The Three-Legged Golden Crow is cultivated first after awakening, while the Donghuang Bell later receives Soul Beasts intended to become Tai Yi’s “Ten Great Demon Marshals.” 2 70
• Tai Yi can activate both Martial Soul Avatars simultaneously in battle, manifesting the Great Sun Golden Crow behind him while wielding the Donghuang Bell. 170

Soul Rings and Soul Skills

Spirit Rings are absorbed to increase Soul Power and grant Soul Skills. Tai Yi’s early rings demonstrate that a Martial Soul’s skills may reflect the nature of its source and its wielder’s divine compatibility. 3 4

Three-Legged Golden Crow Skills

• Holy Light Illumination — Emits holy light that heals injuries and restores Soul Power; at greater strength, it may cure ailments. 4
• Solar Flare — Turns Tai Yi into a small humanoid sun, strengthening his attacks and weakening those of enemies within range. Its heat scales with his Soul Power. 4
• Golden Crow Flame Devouring Strike — Single-target Ultimate Fire attack derived from the Fire Dragon King’s power. 15
• Golden Crow Ice Breaking Strike — Single-target Ultimate Ice attack derived from the Ice Dragon King’s power. 15
• Extreme Cold Prairie Fire — Domain skill that combines extreme cold and scorching heat, reproducing an environment akin to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. 15
• Great Sun Golden Crow Avatar — A Martial Soul Avatar that transforms Tai Yi into a Three-Legged Golden Crow, grants immunity to fire, commands heavenly flames and the sun star, and unleashes Golden Crow Great Sun True Fire. 69

Donghuang Bell Skills

• Soul Vibration — Bell chimes assault opponents’ souls; it can incapacitate ordinary soldiers and disrupt their Martial Souls. 99 170
• Donghuang Bathing Melody — A single-target healing skill that restores wounds and Soul Power, detoxifies poison, and removes negative effects. 120
• Myriad Life Bell Chime — A large-scale healing bell chime that treats internal injuries, restores allies’ Soul Power, and blocks spiritual attacks within its range. 120 170
• Soul Beast Preservation — A Soul Beast sacrificed to the Donghuang Bell can retain its memories, physical form, and former combat strength. Its attacks instead consume Tai Yi’s Soul Power. 68

Origin Abilities

At level 70, the origin of Donghuang Taiyi within Tai Yi fully awakens and grants abilities beyond ordinary Spirit Ring skills. 69

• Golden Crow Rainbow Transformation Technique — Enables near-instantaneous travel across the Douluo Continent; its future potential extends to the God Realm. 69
• Ten Thousand Demons Submission — Causes demon clans, Spirit Beasts, and Soul Beasts to instinctively submit to Tai Yi; it can forcibly suppress their cultivation. 69 117
• Lord of the Celestial Stars — Mobilizes celestial stars for offense or healing, but expends all of Tai Yi’s Soul Power when used. 69
• Imperial aura — Following the origin’s awakening, Tai Yi carries a domineering presence that Qian Daoliu considers more imposing than that of the continent’s emperors. 76

Divine Inheritance

Tai Yi’s Three-Legged Golden Crow is judged compatible with both the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life. Its supreme yang power embodies destruction through overwhelming solar fire, while the sun’s capacity to bring hope and life aligns it with the Goddess of Life. 2

• Tai Yi receives a purple-and-green Divine Position inheritor mark on his forehead. 2
• His two inheritances are combined into the Joint Nine Trials of Destruction and Life because he inherits both positions through a single Martial Soul. 69
• The first joint trial requires him to create a self-created Soul Skill; its reward includes a divine-artifact refining method and a 5,000-year increase to all of his Spirit Rings. 69
• Tai Yi bases his intended self-created skill on Donghuang Taiyi’s Truth-Shattering Sun Eye, seeking an ocular ability that can pierce illusions, see through formations, and identify opponents’ weaknesses. 79

Martial Soul Evolution

Martial Souls can evolve when their latent potential is awakened by suitable resources.

• Leng Qianqiu — Her Ice Snake Martial Soul, whose evolution had remained incomplete, becomes the Frost Saint Dragon after she consumes an Immortal Herb supplied by Tai Yi. 62 72
• Ning Rongrong — Her Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda evolves into the Nine Treasures Glazed Pagoda after consuming the Aromatic Silk Beauty Immortal Herb. 78 79
• Tai Yi — The Donghuang Taiyi Origin cannot be further purified by Immortal Herbs, but it becomes increasingly active as his Soul Power rises and fully awakens at level 70. 13 59 69
