Background / History

Tang Wulin was raised in Aolai City by Tang Ziran and Lang Yue, alongside Na'er. After saving for three years, he purchased a spirit soul that was dismissed as defective. Rather than burden his father with another purchase, he chose to fuse with it himself. Yao Lao then refined the spirit soul into the century-level Golden Scale, allowing Tang Wulin to become a one-ring Soul Master. 1 2 3

Old Tang subsequently revealed that Tang Wulin contains eighteen seals holding the essence of the Golden Dragon King. The power within the seals can kill him if released without preparation, but absorbing it offers extraordinary growth. Yao Lao and Old Tang became his secret guides in surviving the seal releases. 2

Tang Wulin traveled alone to East Sea City and enrolled at East Sea Spirit Master Academy. He initially attempted to endure mistreatment from his roommates to avoid costly trouble, but retaliated after Zhou Changxi stepped on his quilt. His immense physical strength sent Zhou Changxi through a dormitory window, leaving Tang Wulin liable for damages. 4 5

The first seal destabilized prematurely after Golden Scale's draconic nature and repeated exposure to Xie Xie's Space-Time Dragon bloodline accelerated its reaction. Using the Burning Mantra and Yao Lao's Bone Chilling Flame, Tang Wulin endured a day-and-night ordeal to break and absorb the first seal. Golden Scale absorbed the power Tang Wulin could not contain, evolving into a thousand-year spirit soul.
